As many of you may be aware, Hallmark Abstract Service president Mike Haltman is training to climb into the boxing ring for charity in the 10th Anniversary Edition of the Long Island Fight for Charity (LIFFC)!

The goal of this effort is to raise as much money as possible for the three fantastic charities that LIFFC supports which are; The Genesis School, Long Island Community Chest and the National Foundation for Human Potential.

Needless to say, any amount that individuals contribute, whether $5, $25 or $500, is greatly appreciated and extremely important if the fundraising goals of LIFFC are going to be met.

In addition to individuals, however, many corporations have listened to the story of LIFFC and jumped on board as both Hallmark Abstract Corporate Sponsors and Corporate Donors.

While many more names will be joining these ranks in the near future, we would like to take the opportunity now to recognize these companies along with providing links to their websites.

If anyone needs the products or services that these extremely generous and philanthropically oriented companies provide, please show your appreciation and support by giving them your business.

While our clients typically know HAS as the firm dedicated to their commercial or residential real estate transaction, today we seek your support to whatever extent you are able as Michael trains to enter the boxing ring later this year at the “Main Event’ taking place at the Long Island Hilton in Melville, New York.

Michael is currently working out at the Glen Cove Boxing Club with 35-year boxing veterans Frank Pena and Billy “Kid” Strigaro who have trained Olympic fighters and with Billy holding a Marine Corp boxing title.

At the ‘Main Event’ November 25, about 1,500 Long Island businesspeople are expected to attend  first for a dinner buffet catered by 25 top Long Island restaurants followed by the 12 3-round bouts pitting two Long Island businesspeople against each other who have been matched by age and weight to end the night.

Michael seeks to raise a minimum of $10,000 understanding that this goal will primarily be attained through the contributions of many people donating whatever they can.

We are also very aware that these are difficult economic times and not everyone can spare money for anything beyond the necessities of life.

However, if you find yourself in the position where you are able to donate, there are opportunities to do so through one of the fantastic sponsorship opportunities described below that will provide excellent exposure for your business, by purchasing a ticket for the ‘Main Event’ taking place on November 25, 2013 or by donating some other amount that you feel comfortable with.

Hallmark Abstract Service and the Long Island Fight for Charity!

Long Island Fight For Charity

Michael Haltman, President of Hallmark Abstract Service, is one of  the first members of the Long Island business community to be selected to participate as one of the fighters in the 2013 Long Island Fight for Charity!

The following article appeared in Long Island Newsday recapping the event on November 19, 2012 at the Long Island Hilton at which Michael and the other 7 fighters were announced. In the coming months another 12 to 18 fighters will be selected.

If anyone is interested in participating as a sponsor for Michael he can be reached at orders@hallmarkabstractllc.com.

First 8 chosen for 2013 LI charity boxing event

Eight members of the business community now have a little over one year to get in fighting shape for the 10th Long Island Fight for Charity exhibition boxing event.

At a Monday night meeting to preview the charity fight, the organizers revealed the first eight volunteers — chosen from members of the local business community — who will participate in boxing matchups at the event slated to take place Nov. 25, 2013.

About 12 to 16 more volunteer boxers will be announced periodically at preview events leading up to next year’s fight, for a total of 20 to 24 fighters.

The first eight participants’ business backgrounds include manufacturing, the nonprofit sector, real estate and advertising.

One of the volunteer boxers, Kevin Kelly, the chief creative officer at Big Buzz Marketing Group in Melville, said his only disappointment was that the matchup was so far in the future.

“I had boxed a little as a kid and my great grandfather was a pro boxer . . . so it’s in my blood,” Kelly, 45, said. Kelly also participated in the 2012 fight, which took place in March, and said he has continued his training.

Long Island Fight for Charity began in 2003 and has raised over $700,000 for local charities.

The first eight volunteer boxers are:

1. Keith Dawson, of Prudential Douglas Elliman in Patchogue.

2. Anthony Giallanzo, of Ultimate Performance and Fitness in Glen Cove.

3. Michael Haltman, of Hallmark Abstract Service LLC in Woodbury.

4. Joanne Hutchins, of Moms Who Kick Inc.in Bayville.

5. Kevin Kelly, of Big Buzz Marketing Group in Melville.

6. Bill Mabanta, of Lab Crafters in Ronkonkoma.

7. Leaf Steuernagel, of Veteran Landscaping in Bellport.

8. Chris Whittelsey, of NBC Solutions Corp. in Huntington Station.
